Ten Year Reunion: Traverse City West High School

It may be painful to admit, but I had the enjoyment of attending my Ten Year High School Reunion earlier this Summer.  To help out, I offered to photograph the event and got some fun images.  You can hire a photographer for any event.  It's a great way to fully to enjoy your event while someone else captures all the memories of it for you.  Especially the ones that may be a little foggy for you afterward or you may not even want to remember!  ;-)
Oh, and thanks to Maria Hult and all the sponsors for putting it all together!

Take a look and see if there's anyone that you recognize.

Professional Photos Can Help Sell Your Home

In a previous post, we mentioned a recommendation from the Today Show, to invest a small amount in professional photographs to help sell your home.

With more people than ever researching new homes online, you may only have one chance to make a good5 impression.

Take a look at the photos below to see how professional photos can help show the size and personality of your home.

We've posted a few amateur photos as well so you can compare. The difference is noticeable.

Fun with Light

One of the fun things about light is that it can really change the mood of a photograph. Light can take a photo from solemn to silly or from sweet to scary and back again. Take a look at some of the photos below and see how light (along with facial expressions in some of them) really defines the photograph.

We hope you enjoy! www.JKPhotoworks.com

Senior Portraits: Amanda

A few weeks ago we shot some great senior portraits with Amanda who recently graduated from Traverse City Central. Amanda wanted to try something unique and pose with a horse.

This was our first time working with people and large animals for shots, but they were both great models. The horse's owner even had commands like "ears up!" to make sure we got some great shots!

Check out the results and remember that now's the time to get those portraits done for Senior Year!

Happy Independence Day! Frankfort, MI

There's nothing like the Fourth of July in Northern Michigan. This year, we skipped the Traverse City fireworks and made the drive out the Frankfort. We really think they do an amazing job out there and it's funded solely with donations.

Check out some of the beautiful shots we got this year. Can you believe these photos are untouched! The light was great. The photos really reminded us of a laser light show, so bright and full of color with the gorgeous contrast of Lake Michigan.

We hope that your Fourth was this lovely!
